General Information
Meowlure are incredibly intelligent paring humans in comparison. Paces can have from ten to thirteen individual Meowlure with some Mewlin mixed in. When a Mewlin is born their entire Pace will begin collecting materials to create their adult pair of boots. As many mewlin can be born at once it is considered the Pace's honor to create the boots that will define their adult children one day. Each pair is unique to the Meowlure and often reflects their name and personality. Meowlure refuse any other pair of shoes as boots are considered the utmost perfect traveling shoe a meowlure could have; in fact if presented with sneakers, sandles or heels they'll feel offended by the gifter. Blades are just important in their culture as boots; being small upright cats larger predators will often attack them and though they are agile and fast it doesn't always help. Each blade is created by the head of the pace and is the only time they often drop by in human villages; as travelers they don't have the time to set up smiths. All of the blades created are small to humans but perfectly fit the meowlures' size. Mewlins often experiment with the blades of their elders before one is requested by or made for them that will suit to their needs for the rest of their life. Meowlure also use these blades to find a mate (see Chases below for details). When a Mewlin is fully grown (at around age 12) and is presented with their boots and their blade it's not uncommon that they and their siblings will split from their family Pace and go to create their own. Siblings will stick together just long enough to learn how take care of themselves outside their parental guides before searching for other Meowlure who have left their parents. As their feline natures might suggest, Meowlure are strictly carnivores but do like some veggies or fruits. Physical: From the tips of their ears down to their paws each Meowlure is obviously feline. If not for the fact that they stand on their hind legs and have an avid love of intelligence and mischief. Their bodies are dense and muscular much like a maine coons with its broad chest and sweeping tail. Its front paws are tipped with a thumb making them capable of opening doors, turning keys and many things that humans can do. Each Meowlure is equipped with some form of melee weapon and boots. Each pair of boots is unique to the individual Meowlure. Meowlure fur can be long, short or medium length but never deviate from earthen colors. Meowlures eyes though can be any color but often the color is passed down to the next generation thus if the mother has green and the father has purple the children will have varying shades or possibly a mixture of those two colors. Patterns on fur very as much like their eye color, its passed down and can be stripes, dots, or blotches of earthen colors. Communication Meowlure can speak just as well as any human but they often have strange little accents and inflections in their speech. From rolling their r's to a purring trill at the ends of their sentences many meowlure like to do this for fun. Bonding Information They're bonds are just as finicky as cats. They may or may not have a preference and it might not always make sense at all Meowlure often are given names at their adulthood when they are presented their boots by individuals in their Pace. Bonding a humanoid they are partial to their bond's preferences but they would like the new name to fit them. Mating Information Meowlure find a mate through swordplay and duels. Either gender may declare a duel towards their intended mate. Even if the instigator loses the duel they may still win the heart of their chosen as their skill and deftness is what is being judged above all. Ranks Zweihander 5* The Baron who oversees all, he or she is equal in cast to Claymore and yet prefers the simpler life of a Dagger. A Zweihander is picked from the eldest and most experienced Meowlure of the Pace no matter what their rank is at that time. Zweihanders help with every task that the rest of the Pace needs filled or doesn't want to deal with. If they need more night watchmen that is where it will be. Too many Mewlins running about? It's a Zweihander keeping track. Zweihanders are the only ones of the Meowlure whose class is both above, equal and lesser to everyone and the rarest among them to be found. Many Paces go without a Zweihander or the jack of all trades. Zweihander can be both male or female. Claymore 4* Thoughtful Claymores are keepers of law and the tacticians of their Paces. They lead their Paces with a firm yet gentle hand. One could say a Claymore is the 'Baroness' of the Pace. Claymores watch after the young, prepare fires for the night and are often the masters of cobbling boots. Though they take care of the simplest jobs it is also the most difficult seeing as they are the main creators of blades and boots in a Pace and also the first to hear of any problems. If a Pace has dire need of shall we say a 'law' the first person to receive this important information is the Claymore. Once the Claymore is done looking it over it is then passed up to the Zweihander who along with Schlager discuss its importance. Claymore can be male or female but are more commonly seen as female. Saber 3* Oddest among the group Sabers are prone to intellect with a bit of madness. Some talk in sing song others in riddles but even with their odd habits all Paces welcome any wandering Saber into their midst. No other Meowlure posses what a Saber has; a bit of foresight. Sabers can see glimpses of what lies ahead in any Meowlures path, which is complicated for outsiders to understand as their foresight only shows their kind's futures. Zweihanders and Claymores keep young Mewlins close that show gifts of foresight for without learning control the madness that slowly seizes them can become psychotic. Sabers keep to themselves and the gift of foresight often falls to the males making them almost exclusively one gender. Rapier 2* The reckless Rapier likes to roam more than any other Meowlure. A Rapier is often hard to find in a Pace as most of them have already left or wandered off in search of new and different things. Rapiers see to the scouting and finding of things that would benefit their Pace such as water sources, a good supply of prey, or medical plants that can be found in the area. Rapiers often rely on their baser instincts when out 'scouting' and are more prone to clawing and biting when confronted than the other ranks. Rapiers are almost exclusively female for no particular reason. Schlager 2* These Meowlure like to stick in close knit groups of two or three. Like those of the Epee' rank they are smug but unlike an Epee' whom need to fight they like to avoid confrontation if possible and would rather be more involved in the politics of their Pace. The lazy knights you could say. Schlagers indulge themselves in whatever exotic things Shinai study and most of the time accidentally annoy them. Schlager though lazy and inquisitive are also seen as quite the flirts. They can either male or female and often can be found if not over the shoulder of a Shinai or taking a nap hitting on the nearest meowlure who gaves them the time of day. Shinai 2* Here is your quietest Meowlure, even as mewlin these cats are awfully focused or studious. They often find something that fascinates them and follow it until they feel they have mastered whatever information they set out to gather. Many focus on the art of swordplay but no blade types as regular as dagger, Epee' or foil. They like exotic weapons, mainly the Shinai or possibly scimitars, wave blades, etc. Shinai don't really like to hang about others in their Pace but follow them regardless. Shinai can be either male or female. Epee' 1* Probably the pickiest and most smug Epee' believe themselves the best fighters in their Pace. They like to challenge Foils who gladly except the fight but this often can lead to actual fighting which Daggers are often seen fixing. Epee' don't teach as much as foils do but if a mewlin shows curiosity in an Epee' the Epee' has no qualms in teaching them. Epee' are mainly female with a few males here and there. Foil 1* The lovely Foils like to flaunt. Graceful and vain they practice their foot work often with weapon in hand. Though they aren't much keen to fight monsters they do love to challenge anyone with any clear ability in weapons skills. A Foil is a Meowlure who likes to teach others in their family the art of fencing and survival. Most of the time a Foil is male but on the rare occasion a female will choose the fast and breezy blade. Dagger 1* Of all Meowlure the dagger is the lowest cast in their family and easily the most sought after in any family group. Daggers are easily identified by their friendly disposition and the daggers they choose as weapons. Most of the time a Dagger can be seen helping sort a feud between one Meowlure or another but they themselves aren't pacifists or afraid of violence. They will sneaking up with violent intent on any creature that dared threaten their Pace. Daggers like to be up close and personal with everything and anyone. Daggers can be both male or female. |
